Ibis Budget Archamps Porte de Genève

The room was really clean, spacious and nicely decorated. Everything worked. The window was very large and was nice to have open in the sun. They had a microwave downstairs which was very useful. The WiFi is free. The hotel is great value for money and in a great location. Only 20 minutes from Geneva Airport and from the mountains.

Very nice location - breakfast is amazing - few items but very high quality - the ham is real ham - not that glued together water injected stuff you get all over Germany... delicious cheese - only 2 varieties but delicious!! baguettes, croissants, pain au chocolat, toast, yoghurt, fresh made fruit salad - no eggs. What was also very good is that you have a vending machine with microwave for meals for 5 €. directly on the opposite side of the road you have a very good restaurant - buffalo grill. You get a special menu for 9,99 € there - beef steak, fries, softdrink - great price and delicious!! very quiet and clean rooms & sufficient parking space - 50m from the suisse frontier - Geneva is about 3-8 km away - so very convenient to reach and very competitive rates! But you should always book in advance as the per night price when you book without notice might be as high as 129 € per night - compared to maybe 60 € if you book 2 weeks in advance.

Stayed here because the hotels in Genève are very expensive. Archamps is close to the border of Genève, and by public transport can be reached in half an hour. I stayed in a few Ibis hotels before, so I knew what to expect. The room was simple and clean. There is a restaurant in the hotel, a microwave in the lobby that you can use, plus drinks and snacks that you can buy from an automat. There is a big supermarket a 15 min. walk away, and there are a few restaurants nearby. Busstation is a 10 min. walk away.

Cheap stay, and you can tell it’s cheap, but it’s definitely worth the money. Perfect for a short stay in between some other stops. Definitely worth the money.
